Description

Youth With A Mission NV (YWAM) is a non-profit agency that has been serving the valley since 1996. In 2007 YWAM acquired the building on Washington Ave and F-Street - which is now called The Pier Their goal is to seek partnerships to transform one of the poorest and highest crime areas in Las Vegas into a safe, clean and engaged community.

YWAM is currently serving the neighborhood with food aid, educational classes, job readiness classes, summer feeding programs for kids and after school programs. The Pier has partnered with several valley organizations and churches such as Canyon Ridge Christian Church, STARS, Principium and B&D Empowerment Inc. to improve the quality of life in our community. They are committed to bring people together to give our neighborhood a future and a hope.

"Fully Launching The Pier" is a grand opening style event that will take place on November 14, 2009, 10 AM - 2 PM. There will be inflatables for the kids, prizes and gift card giveaways. Large companies such as Sam's Club, Kohl's and others are sponsoring the event. Local government officials will be present and will be officiating at a special ceremony and news media will be covering this. It will be an exciting day where we expect more than 500 people to attend.
